A quick post for the Week

I have a few minutes to spare, so thought I would quickly post to my blog. Both boys came home from school with no homework, so, Yay, I have a few minutes for myself. They are busy playing outside right now, so I had better make it quick.

Wow, this renovation business certainly is aging! I now, just want it to be over. It is going right down to the wire with everything!! I am going back to the house tonight to put the final coat of paint onto the kitchen carcases before the kitchen guy comes in (hopefully!!!) tomorrow to put on the new unit doors.

And, to top it all off, I seem to be getting flu. Sniff, sniff!

Today's card is one I made three of, each with a different sentiment. This one went into the post for my Gran's birthday, which was this last weekend. And an update, she just LOVES the card set I made for her, which was featured in one of my previous posts.

As you may have gathered I don't as yet have a huge range of stamps, and besides a few Hero Arts stamps, most are "Best Rubber Stamps" stamps. This one is no. 806L. This is also one of my favs, the lady looks so dippy watering her flowers! This one took quite a long time to colour in, I hope you can pick up the detail from the photo. I did quite a lot of blending. The sentiment is by Hero Arts. There are 6 in a set, and they are the perfect size. These I purchased from Nikki who owns a Joburg based company called Paperchain.

Not too sure if I am going to get another chance to post before the move, so if I don't I will speak to you as soon as the dust has settled. Excuse the pun!!

Enjoy the stamping!

Thank-you cards.

Just a quick post tonight. Wow, it has been a hectic week. Today wasn't a good one renovation of our house wise. Am really not pleased with the work the painter is doing, battling to get anything out of the guy who is doing our kitchen cupboards, and discovered that a portion of the house has been incorrectly wired!! So needless to say, I am feeling a little frazzled. We are going through to Newcastle tomorrow morning to pay for our new bed and lounge suite, and to arrange their delivery for next week. We also need to buy a few odds & sods. The rest of the weekend is going to be spent at the house doing the few things we need to do, and moving up the outside plants and garden furniture etc. So roll on move day, so this can all be over with!!

Anyway, these are the cards I created for all the people that gave my boys gifts for their birthdays, 12 in total! They actually came together quite quickly and I enjoyed making them. I coloured in the 12 owls while watching the French Open tennis final. The stamp I used is once again a "Best Rubber Stamps" stamp, no. 708E. This is one of my faves, and I have used it often. I have placed an order for some more cute stamps, this size, so I can't wait to get my hands on them. Have to wait until my birthday though, that's only on the 21st of July!!

Anyway, here are all 12 cards:

And here is a close-up. Super simple, but just what I wanted.

Enjoy your weekend, hope you get some relaxing in, you lucky people you!!

My boys birthday cards

It was recently my oldest & youngest son's birthdays. Caide is on the 2nd of June, and Jamie on the 8th. Not very good planning on our part, but what can you do!

For Caide's birthday he was allowed to take 3 friends to Spur for supper (he had a big party last year). We did have a little party for Jamie, we had to, it was his first birthday! It was very cute, he had lots of fun, and ate lots of cake and chips!

This is the card I made for Caide: This is once again a "Best Rubber Stamps" stamp no. 480-12.

And this is Jamie's: This is also a "Best Rubber Stamps" stamp, no. 184-5.

It's final countdown until move day. 7 sleeps to be exact! It has been a very stressful, but exciting month. We have never had the opportunity to renovate a house before, so it has really been a learning curve for both myself and my hubby. It is all going to be so worth it though!

Next post I will have pics of the thank-you cards I made for the gifts the boys received for their birthdays.

Speak to you soon,

Rene'

Feeling Blah!

Hope you are all having a lovely weekend. Mine started off awfully with me starting with a horrible tummy bug on Friday afternoon. Needless to say, I didn't sleep very well, and spent more time in the loo than I would have liked!! Anyway, one of those things I suppose.

I have decided to load one of my favourite cards to date. Not too sure what it is about this one, I just like it and it makes me smile. Which is what I need to do, the way I am feeling right now!

This card was created using another of the South African based company "Best Rubber Stamps", stamps and the number is 3170-16.

Would love to hear from some of you. I am still very new to this blogging thing and would value any input.

Keep well!!

Happy Wednesday!

Just got back from my boy's hockey tournament. I love watching my kids play sport, it is so much fun. I have also been coaching the Grade 1 girls team and have had loads of fun doing that. Hope you are all having a great week. Can't believe it is nearly Thursday already, time is flying!

Just a quick post today, and a card to share. What with the renovations going on I am not getting nearly enough time to be creative, I am suffering a bit from withdrawal!

This is a card I created for my uncle & aunt. They recently helped my mom to purchase a new car, so I wanted to send them a "thank-you" to tell them how much I appreciate them helping my mom out.

This is my first card I created using a "Best Rubber Stamps" stamp, it is no. 426-16.

Enjoy the rest of your week!

A weekend post

Hi everyone.

Hope you are all having a fantastic weekend. Things have been great here, if not a little bit hectic. My Mom came up to visit on Thursday, so it's been great having her here. We just don't see enough of each other. She lives down the coast at Scottburgh, which is about 3-4hrs drive from here. Now with the price of petrol skyrocketing, I think we are going to see each other even less!!

Anyway, she came up because it was Caide's birthday this last Monday and it's Jamie's birthday tomorrow. We had a little party for Jamie here yesterday, it was so nice to have her here to help me prepare. The party was small, but cute, and the kids seemed to have a good time.

Here is a pic (not a very good quality one, I am afraid!) of the invite I made for Jamie's party.

And I am going to post one more pic of another card I made a couple of weeks back. These cards were created using a stamp by Inkadinkado, it is the first stamp that I purchased that I have been able to colour in properly, so I had lots of fun with this one. I use coloured pencils and a bit of turps for blending.

I have been over the moon lately. I ordered about 25 stamps from my friend Angella, so have had loads of new stamps to play with, haven't used half of them yet so have lots of playing ahead of me. Will post some of my new creations soon.

Anyway, I am off to run a 10km fun run shortly. Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

I'm Back!!

Hi All,

No, I haven't disappeared from the face of the earth. Just had a few problems with our Internet here at home. Thankfully my hubby sorted it out last night, I am now back up and running.

Life is really hectic at the moment so I don't know how much time I will be spending here over the next month, see we are renovating our new house!! I am so excited. We got the keys over the weekend, so I have been spending quite a lot of time up there.

The builders started yesterday pulling up tiles and taking out walls etc, I had 5 guys in the garden pulling all the big bushes out so we can put up the fence, the electrical guys were there to chase the walls for all the wires. In other words, chaos!! But I was amazed and so pleased with what they achieved in just one day, so just hold thumbs for me it continues to go as smoothly.

Just one pic to upload today. These are 2 cards I made for family friends who lost there elderly father & husband. My first "sympathy" type card.

Hope you are all keeping well. Speak to you soon.
