Creative Friday @ Natural Suburbia

Who of you watched the Royal Wedding today??? I was absolutely glued to the T.V. and was in awe of every aspect of the day. Kate was breathtakingly beautiful. It really did look like a fairy tale!!

Anyway, just wanted to share some photos of my latest project with you. My friend Linda is having a KAL over at her blog Natural Suburbia, and I just had to Knit-a-Long!! I have been wanting to knit the Shalom Cardigan for the longest time, so this was just the push I needed~!! The link for the KAL is in the right hand column on her blog.

Here is what I managed to achieve today while watching the wedding!

Why don't you join us???

I would love for you to drop back by here on Sunday, I am hosting my first challenge over at Let's Scrap!! :)

Project Life: Week 18/04-24/04

NapTime MomTog Project 365

So glad you are here again. It really was a wonderful week for me, one of my favourite so far this year!

MONDAY: I have tried to create a potting bench outside the back door. There is a lovely area there, that is ideal, I just now need to find the right table. This one will just have to do for now!

TUESDAY: This gorgeous dragonfly was on the floor next to my car at work this morning. It was the biggest one I have ever seen, and was quite beautiful!!

WEDNESDAY: Jamie made these adorable little bunny ears at school today. He and his friends all looked so cute playing and running around with their ears on. He also got a little Easter egg to bring home. He loves his school!

THURSDAY: I nearly forgot to take a photo today, but thankfully remembered!! I decided to take a photo of the boys after they got back from hockey practise, all hot & sweaty, but still so handsome :)

FRIDAY: Mom & Trev arrived today, and we are ALL so happy that they are here!! I love to watch how the boys just glow when they get to spend quality time with them. Mom taught the boys had to play patience with cards, and both Caide & Bryce played game after game!!

SATURDAY: We decided to take Mom & Trev to the Lodge this afternoon. They had never been there, and we thought it would be nice to sit on the verandah and have a milkshake. It was a wonderful afternoon out, and we just sat and chatted for a good few hours. I have so enjoyed the wonderful quiet time we have had together!!

SUNDAY: The boys were spoilt by the Easter bunny again this year!! They had a lovely hunt, and had great fun running around the garden in search of eggs. We had a lovely roast chicken cooked on the Webber for lunch, and spent a lovely relaxing day together.

Thanks so much for sharing my week with me. I hope yours has been wonderful too!!!

I haven't created a card since my DT term with AnnaBelle Stamps came to an end, so it was nice to put this card together!!

The products I used on my card are:

P.P. - BasicGrey
Flower - Prima
Border Punch - Martha Stewart
Distress Inks - Ranger

My Mom is arriving tomorrow to spend the Easter weekend with us. Looking forward to spending time with her, so probably won't post here again until after the weekend. Hope you have a safe Easter weekend, filled with family time and lots of good food :)

Project Life: Week 11/04-17/04

NapTime MomTog Project 365

Thank you for taking the time to visit my blog to view my Project Life photos today. I am so happy that you are here :)

MONDAY: Jamie enjoying an afternoon nap. As he gets older he is sleeping less. He normally has a little doze in the car on the way out to Uelzen, but today he obviously was super busy at school!!

TUESDAY: After a very long wait I finally got my compost heap installed. This is another one of the things I am super excited about as part of my "better living" drive. We all get involved with throwing the appropriate things in here every day. I look forward to when it is ready so I can use some in my garden!!

WEDNESDAY: Jamie was about to have a pee in the bushes when he shrieked!! He is quite intimidated by these rather large grasshoppers. I am not a huge fan either, but he/she was quite majestic, so I had to take a photo!

THURSDAY: This is the beautiful sight that greeted us on the way out to Uelzen for the boys' parents evening. It was gorgeous!! It was a great evening with rave reviews from both boys' teachers. So happy that they are both doing well academically!

FRIDAY: It was caramel coated donuts for us for afternoon tea today. I thought it would be fun to set up a little photo shoot of us all taking a bit into our donuts. I used my tripod . So happy with the way this turned out. I need to do this more often so I can be in more of the photos this year!

SATURDAY: Ray is an X-Boxer, last year he was into it in a huge way, but this year not so much. I love that he has a hobby, and am always happy for him when he finds a good game.

SUNDAY: Today was a lovely cool and chilly day. I LOVE to garden when the weather is like this :) After reading my new Country Homes & Interiors mag in the bath last night I got a bee in my bonnet to try and make the area around my compost heap a little prettier, I am really happy with the way it turned out!

Hope you are having a lovely week so far. Thanks for dropping by, I loved having you here :)

Stamping Challenge at 2 Peas

Welcome back to my blog. So glad you are here!! Today I am posting a layout that I am entering for a challenge over at 2Peas hosted by Nichol Migouirk. You need to include stamped journaling on your page.

My stamped journaling is the words "find joy everyday", and this stamp is in a set by Hero Arts. All of the circle & dot stamps are also by Hero Arts.

So here is my page:

I based this page on a layout done by the super talented Maggie Holmes that appeared in the March/April issue of CK magazine. I love her style and was so motivated to scrap when I saw it.

Anyhoo, thanks again for being here!! See you soon :)

Project Life: Week 04/04-10/04

NapTime MomTog Project 365

So happy that you have decided to stop by again this week. It was a lovely relaxing week, one I really enjoyed!!

MONDAY: After some encouragement from my Mom I have decided to start recyling my rubbish, and it really has been quite an eye-opening experience. In the week since I have started I have only gathered half a rubbish bin of stuff that I will actually throw away, the rest can be recycled!!! I feel so good that I am now doing this, my little bit to improve the environment!!

TUESDAY: We had a lovely day today, it was nice and cool, even a little chilly, and I managed to score the day off work. They kids had a lovely day playing with toys they hadn't played with for ages. Here Bryce is being creative with his Hot Wheel cars!! We also went for a nice long walk. It was a wonderful day!!

WEDNESDAY: I am so enjoying the cooler weather this week. It is so much more enjoyable to weed my veggie patch when it's not sweltering hot!! Bryce took this photo for me, and did a great job!! In the back-ground are my lovely Brinjals, they have grown SO well. In the fore-front are my newly planted Green Peppers.

THURSDAY: I made some chocolate muffins this morning, and Jamie climbed into the mixing bowl to eat the left-over mixture. What more can I say...too cute for words!!

FRIDAY: Caide is extremely gifted when it comes to building things, and his latest creation is no expection. He got it into his head to build Jamie a horse from this old piece of tressle that was lying around. How very very clever my boy!! Jamie loves it, so proud of your creativity :)

SATURDAY: It was an event called Talana Live this afternoon, so we headed up to the museum for a lovely afternoon out!! There was a talk on the Boer War, dog show, games for the kids and a lovely tea garden. We took Nadia with us and the kids had a ball together, it was lovely!

SUNDAY: Brycie decided he wanted to help Ray cook the steak for lunch today. He grabbed an apron, which was way too big for him!! We had to tie it up in the back, it ended up looking like a dress, it was quite funny!! :)

Thanks for dropping by!! To those that leave comments, you really make my day!! :)
