FO: Shalom Cardigan

I knitted this cardi as part of a KAL my friend Linda hosted. I have been wanting to knit this pattern for years and I am so glad I did. I might just have to knit it again, I enjoyed it so much!! I am super happy with the way it turned out, and it fits like a glove. Now here's hoping the weather is cooler tomorrow (as the weather-man promised!) so I can wear it :)

I used Elle Earth DK in the colourway Mud Flats held double and used a 5.5mm needle. If you have any questions feel free to ask. Shalom is a free pattern available on Ravelry HERE.

Thanks so much for taking the time to visit my blog. I hope I have inspired you to pick up your knitting needles :)

Project Life: Week 16/05-22/05

NapTime MomTog Project 365

I am still totally on board with this project and am enjoying every moment of it. Thanks for stopping by to view my photos!!

MONDAY: I got such good news today. I won a copy of Creating Keepsakes - Creative Spaces magazine on Kim Watson's blog. I have never won one of these give-aways, so am over the moon. Can't wait for my mag to arrive in the post!!

TUESDAY: Jamie was sitting at my desk early this morning, and the sun from the window was catching the side of his face. I just had to take a photo, and am SO glad I did!!

WEDNESDAY: The long awaited RC cars arrived yesterday, and Ray & Caide have been hard at work putting them together. They are amazing little machines which the boys built from scratch!! They go like a bomb!

THURSDAY: Our bathroom renovation is finally over and we are so happy with the way it turned out. They started last week Monday and only finished today, but it was worth the inconveniece. We are all going to use this room loads now, when it was hardly used before!

FRIDAY: I wanted to take a photo of chicken a.k.a. Escapee Artist (as we call her) next to the lovely garden sign I got as part of my Mother's Day gift. She is the only chicken that manages to get out of the hock, and has become another pet!!

SATURDAY: Ray and Brent took the bigger boys to a rally event that was held just out of town. Apparently it was such an awesome experience, and the boys all had a magic morning. Next year Jamie and I will go and watch the start which is apparently quite something to watch!

SUNDAY: My first little green peppers have started appearing on one or two of the plants. I am so loving this vegetable gardening experience, and get so excited when each new vegetable appears. I just wish the kids and Ray would get more excited about it!!

I hope you have enjoyed your time here at my blog :)

New Card Sketch @ Let's Scrap

Morning Ladies.

I should have posted this yesterday, but it was a Public Holiday here in SA as well as voting day so I just didn't get around to it.

Having finished up with all my card making DT's I don't often make cards anymore, so am really enjoying that as part of my Let's Scrap DT requirements, is a once a month Card Sketch!! Here is this months gorgeous sketch:

Debby did a great job with this one, don't you think?!?

Here is my card. I haven't had a chance to use my Copics in a while, so decided to use an adorable AnnaBelle image instead of a quote. The image, sentiment and lovely pink Sprinkles are all by AnnaBelle Stamps, find their shop HERE!

Why don't you stop by LET'S SCRAP and see what they have to offer. If you are looking for a warm, embracing, encouraging, fun, challenging group, it really is the place to be!!!

Thanks so much for stopping by, thanks so much to those that take the time to comment, I REALLY do appreciate it :)

Project Life: Week 09/05-15/05

NapTime MomTog Project 365

Thanks for dropping by again this week. I am still so excited and enthusiastic about this project!! My problem is finding a reliable place to print my photos every week, it's really getting frustrating!!

MONDAY: Jamie's latest thing is to send his "girlfriend" Desh e-mails on his computer. It is totally adorable how he reads out the words he is writing, and then pushes the SEND button. Love the little curl at the back of his neck too, want to eat him up!!

TUESDAY: After ANOTHER trip to the doctor we went to Pick 'n Pay to do some shopping. I have been wanting to take this kind of photo for ages, so am really glad I got it done! Jamie has not been well AGAIN, as you can see from his eyes. This time a cold with red throat!

WEDNESDAY: Lots of Jamie photos this week!! I was actually taking a photo of him while he was sleeping when he woke up, and was all dozy and sleepy. He looked so precious, and I am so happy with this photo, makes me smile :)

WEDNESDAY: These are the gorgeous flowers Ray surprised me with on Monday for our anniversary. Aren't they beautiful!! I love being surprised with fresh flowers, thank-you my sweet husband :)

FRIDAY: The boys sitting outside eating lunch while watching Caide drive his new RC car. As always Billy is by their side. Love this photo of all my boys together! Friday is a lovely day in our household, no homework and after school activities!

SATURDAY: I am over the moon with the way my spinach is growing. I plan to use some in a potato bake tomorrow for lunch, can't wait to eat some of my homegrown spinach for the first time!

SUNDAY: I started this quilt some time ago, but finally bit the bullet and did all of the last sewing for the top in the last few days. Today while the boys went down to the aerodrome to watch the guys flying their planes, I basted it. Now to quilt this monster!

Thanks for being here again. To those that take the time to leave comments, THANK-YOU, it means so much to me!!!!

So the latest sketch is up at LET'S SCRAP, and wow, Cheri has done another awesome job with this one!! I once again only did a one pager, and used the left hand side of the sketch.

And here is my take on the sketch. I haven't scrapped a page about me and my Mom for ages, so I am super happy to have done this layout!

Project Life: Week 02/05-08/05

NapTime MomTog Project 365

Thanks for stopping by again!! It was a busy but awesome week. The highlight for me, our night away to celebrate our 13th wedding anniversary. What a treat!!

MONDAY: Caide's room has been in desperate need of a make-over for quite some time. Today we took the plunge, went shopping in the morning, and set up the room after that. He asked that I keep the door closed and then he could see it when we were finished. He is over the moon with his new "grown-up" room, and that makes me one happy Mom :)

TUESDAY: Caide had hockey trials for the Umzinyathi Team this afternoon, and it was a nerve-racking up and down afternoon. After playing his heart out 2 teams were chosen and the rest set to one side to practise. We were both so disappointed that he had not made it. At the end of the afternoon they called all the boys together, and it turned out he had been picked for the u12 team. What relief!!

WEDNESDAY: Today I had a little assistant with me while I pruned our Johannesburg Gold bushes. You don't get cuter assistants than this, and he did a great job in helping his Mom. Love those cute little hands!

THURSDAY: Caide had another busy afternoon with a tournament at the Oval. They played two games, drawing one and losing this one 1-0. I was able to capture loads of action shots so look forward to doing a scrapbook page with those!

FRIDAY: I was in 7th heaven when we arrived at our chalet at the Lodge this afternoon. It really is such a glorious spot, and I felt like a queen. In the evening we went out to supper and had a delicious meal. I am so blessed, and this treat, given to me by my hubby has made my year!!

SATURDAY: We sat and ate our breakfast on the patio this morning. It was so special to sit quietly, just the two of us and enjoy our food and stunning view. I have enjoyed every single second of this wonderful night away. Thanks so much my sweet husband. The last 13 years spent as your wife have been the happiest of my life!!!

SUNDAY: Today would have to rate as one of my nicest Mother's Days so far. In the morning I got tea in bed with these lovely homemade cards. Each boy wrote such lovely words in their cards, which just made my heart so happy. Ray made me a delicious breakfast and for lunch we went to Debbie's house. The rest of the day was spent relaxing. It really was a most wonderful weekend. I am truly blessed!!

Thanks so much for taking the time to stop by, and for those that leave comments, "thank-you", it means so much to me!!
