My Owlies are finished

I finished up with my Owlie socks last night, and I LOVE LOVE the way these turned out!! This is a free pattern that is available on Ravelry HERE.

What do you think??

The shoes I am wearing are my latest purchase from Groundcover, I also have 3 other pairs in pink, orange and black. I absolutely adore them!! I knit my socks in a gorgeous sock yarn called Truffle which was dyed by the hugely talented Carle, go and check out some of her other yarn HERE! Now if only the weather would cool down so I could wear my new socks and shoes....

Project Life Week 20/2- 26/2

Naptime Momtog

The Mom Creative

It was a quieter week this week, which was lovely!!! The boys cricket games on Monday were cancelled because of the rain we had had the previous weekend. They did both swim in a gala at Ladysmith and both did very well. The heat has been terrible again this week, it is energy sapping!!! February is always bad for us here in South Africa!!! The highlight of our week was Jamie getting his 25m and 50m swimming badge, he is only 4 so we are exceptionally proud!! We thought he might get his 25m but didn't expect him to swim a whole extra length!! :) We spent a lot of time by the pool this weekend, so nice and relaxing!!

So, what did you get up to last week, I am looking forward to seeing your posts!! See you later in the week with something crafty :)

I really enjoyed putting this one together. The adorable Magnolia image was stamped for me by a special friend in the Cape. Thanks!!

I AM ENTERING MY CARD IN THE FOLLOWING CHALLENGES:

~ Simply Magnolia - Red and/or Pink with White
~ Totally Tilda - Tilda with Hat on
~ Anything Goes - Bingo, I chose: Charms, Flowers & Distress

Sketch #70 at Sketches in Thyme

The latest sketch is up and live over at Sketches in Thyme, and this week it's a double pager!!! I used this opportunity to create a layout using some of the lovely photos we took on our beach holiday in December.

This bright double page spread brings back great memories and just makes me happy!!

This is the sketch that we got to work with:

So....we'd really love for you to come and play along with us over at Sketches in Thyme, you have until the end of the month to create your page based on this sketch. When you have finished your layout link it HERE.

I have discovered a lovely new site!!!

I have recently come across an amazing new site, check out all the details below!!

Hello everyone!

We are very excited to welcome you at our brand new challenge blog Scrap Africa!
Why did we start this blog? Simply because we want to showcase and celebrate the creative talent that we have in our beautiful land. At the same time we want to share it with the rest of the world and be inspired by others. While we will focus on scrapbooking in Southern Africa we hope that our challenges will attract scrappers from different parts of the world.

This is how it will work.
Every 2 weeks on Thursdays we will publish a new challenge for you. You will have 3 weeks to complete it. We will alternate sketch challenges for lay-outs with theme challenges. For our theme challenges you can create any kind of scrap object - it can be a lay-out, a card or an altered object as long as you follow the requirements of the challenge.

You can combine our challenges with challenges from other blogs.
Only make sure that you do not combine similar challenges together. You also cannot take part in two challenges on our blog with the same project (our challenges will overlap and therefore you cannot for example make a lay-out using our sketch and then enter same lay-out into the theme challenge on Scrap Africa).

Our design team will choose the best entries which we will feature on Scrap Africa blog. We will also choose someone to be our guest designer for one of the challenges.
We plan to have sponsors for our challenges. After every two challenges (a sketch and a theme challenge) we will randomly draw the prize winner among the participants.
We think that this new venture is something worth celebrating. And what is a celebration without a gift?

Copy the picture from this post and post it on your blog or in any other internet community.Tell your friends about Scrap Africa and our give-away. Then link your "hoot" with the linking tool at the bottom of this post and stand a chance of winning a gift pack with wonderful scrapbooking goodies to the value of R300 from the authors of Scrap Africa.

***This give-away is open only for South African and Namibian scrappers. Only one entry per person.

Sounds good don't you think?!? I had one of my layouts featured on their blog HERE. Check it out!!

See you soon :)

Project Life Week 6/2- 12/2

Naptime Momtog

The Mom Creative

Hello, nice to have you visiting me again!!!

It was another full week this week, the highlight being the wonderful success of Caide and Bryce at their school gala!! Caide won all his races and was awarded the Senior Victor Ludorum trophy, he was also Captain of the Eagles, and they won most points and the Spirit Cup. Bryce also won all his races and was awarded the Junior Victor Ludorum trophy. I could not have been more proud!!!

It was also a sad week because it would have been Anne (my MIL's) birthday on Saturday if she had not passed last year. It was her first birthday without her. We took my FIL shopping with us so he wasn't alone on the day.

The week ended on a lovely note with my sweet hubby surprising me with some flowers, I love him so much!!

I look forward to seeing what you all got up to last week!! Hugs ((((x))))

A Valentine's Card for my Gran

I think it has been years and years since my sweet 81 year old Gran received a Valentine, so I decided to make one for her. It might not arrive on the day, but better late than never, and I think she will love the fact that I thought of her.

Here it is!!

I am entering my card in the following challenges:

~ Crafting for all Seasons - Love is in the Air
~ Magnolia Down Under - One word sentiment
~ Cute Card Thursday - Pink Valentine
~ Totally Gorjuss - Lurve
~ Do You Stack Up - Love
~ Frosted Designs - The word "love" on your creation

My card is based on the latest sketch from Deconstructing Jen, I am really enjoying the inpirational sketches and other content on this site!!

Thanks so much for dropping by this weekend!! I hope you have had a good one :)
